Lord willing we will have a safe and fun trip. We do not anticipate any problems. However, when planning a trip like this, it is wise to put in place some plans in case of an emergency.
Our destination is the Nation's Capital area. And, while it is one of the safest and most protected places on earth, it is also a target. If something unfortunate should happen and we get separated from each other, please try your best to do the following.
1. Try to stay where you are and call John immediately 570-723-7702. You can also try Sara, Johanna, and Regis if you are having trouble getting through to John.
2. If you are unable to reach anyone or if cell service is down, then do your best to go to the front entrance of the last place where we were all together and wait. We will find you.
3. IF POSSIBLE, GO TO WHERE WE PARKED THE BUS AND WAIT.
4. If this is not possible because of circumstances, then get to a landline as soon as you can and call Jim McIlvaine or Pastor Dan Duis. Explain to them your situation and where you are. We will be in contact with them to coordinate getting to you.
5. If you have to move to a different location, make a note of landmarks, addresses, buildings, signs, ETC so that you can tell us where you are and what you see. If you can, move to a landmark or structure that is easy to spot and keep trying to call.
6. Check for any messages at www.thehomepagenetworkstaff.com
7. After 3 hours if all communications are down and you are not able to contact anyone then find Route 50 West and proceed out of Washington, DC into the State of Virginia. Continue on Route 50 to Seven Corners, Virginia. Go to Jim McIlvaine's office at 6231 Leesburg Pike, Suite 600
Falls Church Virginia 22044. Someone will be checking this location regularly.
As I stated Washington, DC is one of our safest and most protected cities, especially after 911. So, please don't worry. It's just always good to have a plan.
